After seeing the amazing Avengers (twice), I thought I’d join the online debate on the possibility of a Justice League movie in the future…

With Supes getting a reboot in “The Man of Steel” and Batman rebooting in 2015, the opportunity is there for teaser scenes like we’ve seen throughout the Marvel movies. But what about the rest of the team? If you don’t count the range of animated movies DC are producing, then that’s shaky ground.

Wonder Woman has been in Development Hell for years. She’s been kicked around as a movie, a TV series and a cartoon. I saw the animated movie. It was great, and showed the promise the WW movie could have.

Green Lantern… Yeah, I don’t want GL in a JLA movie. Not because I hate the character, far from it. I love him, and his power ring provides a limitless amount of potential for special effects. And that, right there, is the reason I don’t think he’d work in a JLA movie. In his own movie, the budget focused on him. But in a group movie? Not so much. And when that movie includes Superman, the Flash, and Martian Manhunter, all vying for effects? Someone is going to come off the worse for it.

My suggestion? Green Arrow. Now, I’m not just saying that because Whedon showed us how an archer could work in the movie (although he did), but because I’ve always loved Green Arrow. He has the skill of Hawkeye, the millionaire lifestyle of Bruce Wayne, and the cocky charm of Tony Stark. A magical combination. Give us a Green Arrow movie, dammit!!

*Ahem* So, on short, a JLA movie wouldn’t be impossible if approached sensibly. But nevertheless, I may come back to this topic again…

Til tomorrow!
